Tutt Bryant Group Limited’s management is committed to promoting and achieving a culture where harm to our employees, contractors, visitors and members of the public arising through work is unacceptable. To achieve this outcome Tutt Bryant Group Limited will:

  • Demonstrate leadership and commitment through all its managers and supervisors so that they are aware of and accept their responsibility to provide a safe work environment.
  • Provide and maintain a safe work environment, including work conditions, practices and procedures for all employees and persons who come into contact with the Group.
  • Develop safety awareness by initial and ongoing education and training of all staff, employees and contractors.
  • Take all practicable steps to eliminate hazards within the workplace through risk identification assessment, control and monitoring to ensure continuing effectiveness.
  • Comply with all applicable safety and health statutory requirements.
  • Strive to continuously improve safety and health management by setting safety and health objectives, plans and performance measures and regularly reviewing progress against the set targets.
  • Involve all our people in safety and health management through consultation and by contributing to identifying, assessing and controlling hazards and reviewing safety and health performance.
  • Ensure all incidents are reported, recorded and root causes identified, and where injury or illness occurs, help our people to achieve full recovery through prompt treatment and active rehabilitation.
  • Allocate resources to meet the commitments of this Policy.

The following areas of responsibility are essential to the success of this policy:

  • The Group’s Board and all senior managers will actively commit themselves to the delivery of this policy by:
    • Devising and administering a comprehensive safety and health risk management program.
    • Holding regular meetings to discuss safety and health issues.
    • Taking effective action to provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions for all employees and others affected by this policy.
  • Supervisors will be held accountable for working conditions under their control and for the extent of information, instruction, training and supervision given on safety and health matters to employees.  They are to provide the initiative and follow-up action to maintain this policy within their own sections.
  • Employees share responsibility for their own safety and that of their co-workers and others affected by work practices.  The success of a safety and health program ultimately rests on the willingness of everyone to cooperate and work collectively with a “team spirit”.

Workplace safety and health consultative committees and/or safety and health representatives shall be supported by management and employees.

This signed statement of Policy will be displayed at all work locations. It confirms the Group’s commitment to making the work environment for Tutt Bryant Group Limited safe and healthy for all our people.
